Overview

This 3 Days safari to Nyerere (Selous) and Mikumi is ideal short safari on the Tanzania Southern Circuit. Nyerere Park size is stunning, bigger than Switzerland or Denmark, uninhabited and little touched by human interference. Visitors, therefore, find themselves in a pristine wilderness far away from the trodden tourist routes. Its wildlife (including some few remaining Black rhinos and Wild dogs) are very spectacular.

Mikumi’s landscape provides a serene wildlife experience, commonly seen animals like Impalas, Elephants, Giraffes, Zebras, Antelopes, Wildebeests, Elands, Crocodiles, Hippos, Baboons. If luck is in your favor, you won’t miss to see Lions and Leopard. Mikumi inhabits over 300 species of birds namely saddle bill stork, hammer kop, malachite kingfisher, lilac breasted roller, yellow throated long claw, battler eagle etc.

Itinerary

Day 1

Zanzibar / Dar es Salaam - Nyerere National Park (Selous)

Take early in the morning flight from Zanzibar / Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park (Selous), picked up at Mtemere Airstrip then set off for game drive. Nyerere Park is known as home of wild dog and lions, leopard and many more animals. Lunch will be saved in bush and thereafter we will proceed with game drive till evening when we drive back to Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Nyerere National Park (Selous) – Mikumi National Park

Early in the morning breakfast at lodge and departure to Mikumi national park. Driving takes up to 7 hours due of lough road. Will have hot lunch at Morogoro Town and proceed with journey until we get at Mikumi national park. Will do evening game drive and drive back to hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Mikumi National Park - Dar Salaam / Zanzibar

Wake up early in the morning with breakfast and lunch boxes which will be saved in Bush as breakfast and lunch on the way to Dar Salaam. We will start with a short game drive then drive out the park around 10:30 am and drive back to Dar Salaam for catch up boat to Zanzibar which takes about 4 to 5 hours driving from Mikumi National Park.
